Hi there Mark I fans. For Sale is a Vintage Hip-Mount Teknetics Mark I. It comes with the original hard case & keys, owners manual, 7 1/4" coil, Charger, hip-mount strap, search rod and Depth Master audio enhancer.
Purchased Originally in 1985 for my mom for Christmas, but went unused for years. Have used this as a back up detector or for a tag-along friend since the early 90's. It hasn't seen any use for the last few years.
This needs a new mode change cable for the Disc/All metal toggle switch. Have toggle switch and 1/4" plug.
The black plastic strain relief on the search coil wasn't as strong as it could have been and broke away from the base.
The original Ni-cads no longer held a charge and are not included.
It is missing a small plastic cap that fits in the end of the search rod.
The hip-mount D-rings have some corrosion on them. (see pics)
The detector is excellent shape. Works great. For those of you that like to modify and tinker, the housing has never been opened since purchase and is still silicon sealed.
The depth master is a great addition to this already excellent machine and enhances those variable tones the Mark I is famous for.
