In excellent condition and works fine. Asking $275 OBO.
This is a VLF Machine with descimination that works great on dry/wet sand and fresh water. It is not designed to work in the salt water surf. If you have any questions contact me.

It amazes me when a machine is called a surf master and cannot handle the salt surf:surprised: Several other brand detectors claim to work in salt water and they don't either so go figure. Any rate if I hunted fresh water this would be a good machine to have.

Your right. I got his machine to hunt Galveston beaches and while it will work it tends to false in the waves. I wish the guy that I got it from had shared this info with me so thats why I had to make sure who ever gets it knows what its capabilities are. If you turn the sensitivity down you can hunt the waves but it likes calm water best.

Hi TX, I was just wondering if you would take a trade of two Garretts detectors? I don,t have much money, but i do have a Freedom AceTrasure hunter and a Garrett Ultra Investigator G-500. Let me know what you think. My email is (gdean.stone@yahoo.com)

Is the coil buoyant on the surfmaster II ? Does it have rechargable batteries?
Yes the coil is bouyant to some degree. A person may want to put wieghts on it. I have been able to use it fine but I have a friend who had to tape a small sand bag to the coil. No the batteries are standard 9Volt. It takes 3.
