F19 and Rechargeable 9V LI Batteries?

Since the GBP/G2 forum is all but abandoned in favor of the F19 I thought I might have a better chance of getting and answer in this forum......

Can the rechargeable 9V Lithium Ion batteries be used with the F19/Gold Bug Pro/ G2? The manual says can use rechargeables but sometime LI batteries are different. Advise will be appreciated. Thanks.

don't see why not if they are the same size as normal ones, I have never used them and they are only pretty new aren't they? I use NiMh 9.6 v rechargables work in all my detectors that use 9V batterys.

but I would wait to see if anyone has used them 1st they sure do hold some juice think mine are 230 and seen the Li Ion ones at 900 good if you plan on a trip or detecting for 3 days straight

If the voltage is 8-9 volts then I don't see any reason they wouldn't work. The higher amperage is only more capacity (run time)

Thanks guys.

I tested Li 9V batteries on a couple of Fisher machines.

I found that in general the run time was really low (even though the maH was high). I also found that unlike a normal alkaline battery, the Li batteries on the battery strength meter will go from full charge bars to dead, so you really had no warning when they would die.

Unfortunately for me they were a bust, as I could only get about 4-5 hours of hunting time out of them before they shut off, YMMV.

thanks for that on the li ion batts, i will stick with the NiMh they are good rechargables next on the list 9.6 volt Maha , been using vapex and they are great but the Maha is a step up.
