F19 is a nickel magnet.

Mike,

Well done: a nice professionally written report.

I remember getting my Golden Sabre + and testing on baseball fields etc and the amount of nickels that came up missed by many other machines was remarkable.
I'm looking forward to getting an F 19 to run it thru all it can do. Slight issue is, it's the wrong time of year for really wet ground and plowed fields...

Good Hunting

Thanks Mike sounds like the same observations I had with the Gold Bug Pro. In fact it was the most stable unit I've ever used.

Hi Mark,
I can't run an F75 at most of my urban sites due to the EMI. That is why I don't own one. If I could I would.

The F19 runs much more stable. So far, when I walk into a area that has enough EMI to make it start to chatter, I have never had to turn the sensitivity below 80 to stabilize it.

I too had some issues on my F75 LTD with EMI. I live in the SF Bay Area and did a LOT of inner city hunting, and it's about as EMI ridden here as it gets. I had run into some troubles with my F75 and sent it into FT for a checkup. Felix sent it back and send the didn't find any issue but replaced the coil. When it came back, I retested it, and it was experiencing the same issue (it failed to detect a silver dime in ground at a depth of greater then 6"). I pinged Dave J., and he asked that I send it back and tell Felix that he said to replace the mainboard and coil.

I did so, and much to my surprise, not only was the silver dime issue resolved, but it also handled EMI 100% better. Apparently the LTD board was replaced with a F75 SE board (with boost & cache modes) as they no longer had LTD boards. Apparently there are some differences in the boards on the F75, as now I can almost always hunt Nasa Tom style with the disc set between 0-7, and the sens on 99 in BP mode :)

Hi Brain,

Didn't you have EMI problems on your high desert hunt in Southern Cal with Tom? If so, was this before you got the problem corrected?

I'm wondering if you used the F75 in Tom's area and what kind of depth you are getting. I hunt a little north of where Tom is and the ground is real bad and really affects target depth. Very high mineralization.

Thanks,

El
