I finally got to use the NEL Hunter on my F2. After two days of use I can tell you the following.
The bad: I am 78 and the extra weight made me shift hands more often than usual. Oh to be young again. It may be a little heavier, but I will live with it.
Also, the chatter was so bad inside the house when I first put it on that I thought it was being sent back. Once I was outside, it was okay. Huge relief. No other coil has reacted so dramatically crazy as this one had in the house.
The good: My 8" coil will not be going back on the F2 in a hurry. I just spent two days on the only decent, but overworked, beach in the area. Everybody comes here and it is hard to find much. I was finding coins faster than ever. The Hunter was finding coins at about two or three times the 8" coil rate. I usually would find three or four coins in a day, but I found eight and twelve coins in the last two days.
Most coins were at four inches, but some dimes were around six inches deep. Nothing deeper than that was found. No excess chatter even though this sand drove the 8" coil crazy at times. Pinpointing was easy. Depth readings seemed inconsistent, but the ID'ing was consistently good.
I wish it had the weight of the Sharpshooter, but I am keeping the Hunter. This has been a fun two days.
