F2 battery cover

mapper1234

New member
I have purchased a new to me F2 & it is noted the battery cover is missing .I will need some guidance in using the F2 in highly mineralized ground ...mostly rural . I am currently using a Teknetics Delta 4000 & I have a granddaughter that is showing a lot of interest .Any help ,pointers & suggestions will be appreciated.

Here you go REVIER!..Wakey wakey, Up at at 'em!

mapper, he should be along shortly, he hunted quite successfully with the F2 around Birmingham Al, which is some tough iron mineralized dirt!...

The F2 is pretty cut and dry. Notch out IRON. Set the sensitivity to where you don't get chatter. Hunt.

In mineralized ground you don't lose a whole lot if you drop the sense to say 2. Still gets 6" on coins and such. Fisher may send a new cover if you ask.

What they said.
I did use it in Birmingham Alabama, some of the worst most mineralized soil in the country and also, bonus, most of it was also infused with tiny iron particles...still worked great.
Hightone is also correct about that sense vs. depth thing.
I used to think you lose about 1/4" per depth bar taken away...now I believe it is less than that.

Also do call Fisher about that cover, they will probably send you a new one.

Thank you REVIER .....ya'll have furnished me with the information I need, now it is up to me to put it to work.
