F2 shutting off at first beep after turning on?

battery's seem fine on the tongue test and show almost a full charge on the screen but once the detector beeps on something the whole screen goes dead? don't remember this happening last season and I had it stored with no batteries in it.. anyone have any ideas?

Try a new battery. Your tongue meter may be off. A bad battery will appear be be good sometimes but the voltage drops off fast under a load.

If the problem still exist after replacing the batteries then the unit will need to be sent in for repairs, I had an F2 that had very close to the same issues and the membrane touch pad was bad.
