............thinking of getting two Fisher F2's .................looks like a good detector. My wife and I would take them along on road trips and use them for local hunting. This sounds crazy; but I have found more finds and higher quality finds with my cheaper detectors than with the many "flagship" units I have owned. I enjoy the speed and simplicity!! But I'm not sure if F2 is good for gold ring/jewelry hunting? Has anyone had any luck in finding rings with this detector. I've been told by some dealers that the 6 KHZ frequency would not be "hot on gold" and to look for a higher frequency unit. I mostly hunt low mineral "dry sand beaches" and soccer fields/ ball fields and parks. Another thing I was told is not to expect anything deeper than 4 inches..... one dealer ( not a Fisher dealer) said max you can expect from the F2 is 4 inches period!! Is this so?? I get the feeling there is unfair criticism of the F2 wonder why? Could you fellow F2 users give me some tips on using this unit please.Should I go ahead and buy two of these?? Also, how far apart would the units have to be to avoid ..crosstalk? Finally is this a good choice for my type of hunting ??
