F4 Find - Primative Medievil Dagger Chape?

backacheUK

New member
At first glance this I though was just another piece of small lead scrap or pipe section, Lead bits n pieces as well as artefacts being a fairly common find here in UK as it is an easy to work metal & had many uses from buttons n dress weights to as today lead flashing on building roofs. So im gonna have a guess having seen similar n say that this piece is a primitive Dagger Chape of the 13th -15th century. Plain design meaning the owner was prob a person of low or no particular social status. dagger chapes were fitted to the tip to protect the end of your dagger from stabbing yourself. ouch!! Im no expert here just guessing. But if genuin = a nice find?
