F4 Pinpoint and Ground Balance Woes

BostonDigger

New member
Have Been Detecting for a few years with a BH 2200 and have had some good results.

Got 1 F4 as I like to detect at ocean beaches and 2200 only worked on dry sand.

With sensitivity set at min and in Disc Mode Detector still chatters in moist sand, Have rebalanced my times and still have issues.

Any suggestion to improve situation ????

Also, when I do find something and try to pinpoint - display will read low inches and chatter over an area of several inches on the ground,

Don;t know if detector is defective or just not doing something wrong.

Have been working with F4 for about six hours and am getting very frustrated.

Any help with pinpointing would also be appreciated ???

Regards BostonDigger

The F4 ground balance range handles nearly all land conditions, but does not go all the way to wet salt. When working in wet salt you'll usually get the best results by cranking down the sensitivity and dialing in enough discrimination to knock out small foil. Also working in the wet stuff I highly recommend putting a plastic bag over its head to protect it from salt spray since salt spray will eventually ruin your machine.
