F5 11 inch DD coil

Hi
Anyone have an opinion on the F 5 11'' dd coil? Is it worth buying? Has it much greater depth than the 10.5 '' concentric?

I would say not much better depth than the stock. It depends on your hunting style I have found the 11dd to have better separation in trash laden areas. It is fast and the coverage from head to toe is better and more even the the stock. It is a little bit heavier than the stock which I do not mind. I use mine when trying to cover as much ground as I can. I know this contradicts what I said about the separation but if I am in heavy trash I use the 5 dd. I have found in really trashy places the 11 will hit to many targets for me. The stock is decent most applications and seems to give the best audio response. Just my thoughts.

Thanks Autopilot , from what you say and other things I've read, i think I'll stay with the stock coil.:ausflag:

The DD coil with its' "blade" pattern, as opposed to the concentric's cone shaped detection pattern, does not require the overlapping sweep pattern for a thorough search. This, of course, allows you to cover more ground in a given time frame.
