I think the only thing that makes the F75 better than the F70 is the pinpoint trigger instead of the button. Other than than a few other bells and whistles, they perform nearly the same.

I own and use both and I wouldn't trade either. If I had to keep one, would be F75. I find it more solid. An underrated feature on F75 is that adjustable metal bending arm cup - works great! The handle is also very well designed. It's more than just the extra features - F75 has a balanced and sturdy feel to it that is hard to describe - once you get used to it, it's tough to swing anything else.

The F70 apparently only has 4 audio tones, whereas the F75 has 60-plus. If I'm hunting for silver coins, I want the option of having the silver sound better than the modern clad. With the Delta Pitch tone option of the F75, this is possible. Delta Pitch makes the F75 sound more like a Minelab Explorer, which probably has the most pleasant tones in the industry. Also, the F70 comes with a concentric coil and the F75 comes with a Double-D coil, which MAY perform better, I don't know. They both operate at the same frequency, so I wouldn't expect performance to differ that much, all other things taken into consideration. Based on specs alone, it seems like the Teknetics T-2 is more similar to the F75 than the F70 is to the F75. If you hunt more relic type sites, like woods, etc. where you aren't listening to hundreds of targets in an hour, then the F70 would probably be my choice. - Jim

^ Hi Jim,

Actually the F70 has 7 tone options, including Delta Pitch.

I've tried Delta Pitch hoping it would have a similar audio quality to the Minelab Sovereign, but it doesn't. It would take some getting used to, but you can hear the difference between a silver dime and a clad dime with DP ?

Might have to play around with this a bit more on the F70, maybe it holds promise.

hh,
Brian

Heck, if the F70 has Delta Pitch (which I like to call an Explorer simulator) and it goes just as deep as the F75, why not go with the lower cost machine?

I own an Etrac and I love the simple tones of the F70...although DP might be for some, try it in the 4H tones and see what you think.
Check in on Dankowski's site as well, he will confirm that there is very little if any performance difference using the F70 (especially if you have an f75 coil on it).

Gates21 could you post a link to the Dankowski site. I been looking for it and can't find it. I like my F75 also. If the F70 is similar than get em both.
