F70 Program 1 & 2 issue

I've owned my F70 for a couple of months and love it. However, I noticed that I'm getting different sounds in Program 1 vs Program 2 when all the settings are the same in both. When I go over iron in Program 1 I get the inconsistant beep. But when I use the same settings in Program 2, I get a lot of chatter and grunting (over same ground) whereas the Program 1 was more stable and didn't get any grunting. Anyone else come across this issue??

Hey, thanks for coming to this forum, Wecome! I just happen to be up so I'll toss this out there...What are your settings? If you let us know what they are, I'm sure somebody here will have the answer. Even though I've run this rig for several years, I have not even scratched the surface of the capabilities of this machine..

sounds like you might have something notched out in one program and not the other try doing a reset then set both programs the same and try it again hh

Thanks for the response. My settings for both programs are Disc-15, Sens.-60, Speed-Default, Threshold at -3 and tones at 3H. I've been playing phone tag with Fisher Lab so no possible solutions from them as of yet.
Last night, I took it out side and placed a piece of iron on top of the ground as well as a penny and silver dime. Program 1 worked great and was extremely stable. Then I flipped over to Program 2 (same settings) and immediately, the chirpping and grunting starting and seemed to get
worse when I would pump the coil during ground balance.

Hmmmm...whenever mine starts to chirp, chatter and grunt, i hit the HZ button...so maybe the HZ setting is different from prog 1 and 2? Other than that, me and you are running basically the same settings except for tones and disc...I run 1 disc, @55sens, DE mode, DP tones, -3 thresh pretty much all the time and only really fool with the sens when I get in areas that will allow it, and even then I only go up to 75 or maybe low 80's...maybe twice a year I do a "factory reset" and have how to do it written down on a scrap of paper in the truck...its really easy, but I cant remember right now which two buttons you push and hold while you turn the thing on..I know its awkward, and a guy nearly needs three hands to do it...is it Menu and GG? or Menu and PP? Oh well...its in the owners manual somewhere. Do you run the 10" coil or the 11"dd?...Either way, it sounds like your machine is at least stable and huntable in the one program, so its gotta be something simple in the set up like the HZ...let us know what you find out.

I run the 10" coil. I've been very impressed with the machine. Prior to the F70, I used Whites classic id and MXT and both were great machines. But, the F70 is much better on coins plus much lighter which helps the shoulder. I'll post what I find out from Fisher Lab.

Oh yes, they are easy to swing alright! And absolutely kill coins...didja try the HZ button? It really does settle things down, but I dont know if its setting is "captured" from one program to the other...

I did try the Hz button, but didn't work. I talked to a Fisher tech today and after we tried a few things, he said send it in. Definately a problem.

Well, received my F70 back today from Fisher Lab. They replaced the circuit and was tested by specialist. However, I went outside and discovered it's doing the exact same thing it did before I sent it to them.

Well, I stand corrected. I realized that once I switched to Program 2, I had somehow notched out foil but iron when increasing discrimination. Once I notched out iron and foil, detector working fine.
