20 centavos silver coin this morning with the F70. Looks like it was once part of a necklas. The coin was within an inch of a bottle cap and still was able to see both signals. Praying for rain so the ground can get a drink, it's so hard to dig. Running the same modified coin settings as yesterday disc 22 sens 60 thres -3 machine is very quite and stable even in the can slaw.

You b doing good wid that F70. Nice work....Z

Yep Z got a nice old park just down the street from the house and its so easy to just run up there for a couple of hours before work and swing a little. Sure have been happy with the F70 it was my upgrade from the F5, it certainly seems to have alot more power to me. I have every plan to get out as much as I can between now and deer season so I hope to have plenty more to report.

Thats a great find, especially under those circumstances...:clapping: nobody running hot would have got that coin close to that bottlecap. I am running in the low 50s on sens in those parks and thinking I'll try even lower to see if it weeds out more junk, and still gives me fast lock on to 3" targets, and yet allows me to swing the coil 3" off the top? I'll check it out when I can just to see...Amazing work you are doing there Man!:please:
Mud.

Mud I might just try that, I would really like to weed out the junk in this park, some areas are hard to swing its a constant pop, crackle, and beep. Sure makes it hard to fish the good signals out of the junk, and I have never seen a place like this park it's like someone has been throwing out handfuls of clad everyday for years, it's amazing the amount of coins I am finding in such small areas.

Dude! I just got back!

I went to my trashy place to try out the concept..I was running 42 sens, -3 thresh, 20disc, DP tones...

I stopped and dumped all the dirty coins through the coinstar and got 9.78...then I went and bought 2 big beers for 3.36 with the clean clad, and I still have 10.29 left over! Plus it kicked out a dirty Canadian Q and 3 really dirty dimes!

What I learned was exactly like you were saying...the coins next to the bottlecaps are visible, as are the multidenom spills and masked Q's...I got TWO dollar coins in that mess..and I've been hunting this place hard for a few years...dont know how I missed so much! Theres so much iron slag and scrap metal in the ground the place is one big overload signal...The TID was not acccurate, only the tones and tightness of target were crisp, and even then I had to hover the coil and only use the middle of it...Amazing. Now I'm wondering what even a LOWER sens would do in such trashy and chattery places? one things for sure, nobody else would dare hunt these kind of spots...or be very good at it if they tried, unless it was Zeek, but alas, hes got JURY duty!..

Mud that's awesome news, I can't wait to get out and see what I can find, it's finally raining here! I am so excited the ground will be a little less like concrete. I will keep posting my settings and finds, and we can see what we can get done on those trashy sites.

I hit a nickel signal, got it, stood back up and hit another right next to that one, got it..stood back up and re swept, got a Q that was masked by the nickels! Whats that mean? Are the lower tone targets masking the good ones? Oh Man!

I had a hit like that I pulled a dime out of a nickel tone hole, thought what happened there, ran my pro pointer in the hole and there was the nickel, they were both in the hole together, never once did I get the dime signal that I remember. The lower tone signals may be over powering the higher toned ones when they are really close together, I will pay closer attention to that and hope the foil signals aren't masking other good coin signals.

..I've always posted about multidenom stacks and spills, and how they can be so hard to recognize, but I learned something today I think..I am running the 11"dd and do believe the guys running the smaller coils in a mess like this might be on to something..however, if a fellow can just use the center of the big coil by dropping sens and flying it high, maybe thats good enough to get most of them? I got a scratchy dime signal and stabbed a bottlecap, stood up and there was the dime. right like you posted originally, an inch from the cap! I think you've opened this place up for me again..I KNOW theres gold in here...I've found a couple of silver rings, but with this much traffic, theres gotta be a chain or ring in the foil or tabs in here someplace...exciting!:clapping:

I got 7 coins out if a hole the other day about the size of a mason jar or 12 oz soda can, the machine wasn't able to separate the signal, it hit hard on zinc and was a bigger signal like a nice ring or bottle cap, it bounced around a little, and after unearthing the different coins I can see why it was jumping, all the signals had high confidence and never had a pass with a click or crap out like a bottle cap normally will. I laughed at this situation we find ourselves in, my wife just bought an expensive professional camera and the instructions are maybe 200 pages of different settings and results, our metal detectors are so different we get a here's how you turn it on and this is what you should get type instructions, if it wasn't for forums like this and those of us who aren't afraid to trail and error on stuff we wouldn't know half of what we do about our machines and how they interact with the soil and different signals that we put them over.

I dig frequent 2, 3, and 4 coin coin spills and find when the coins are of different denominations that the i d is more of an average of all the coins. Particularly, if they are stuck together, but even if just very close. In the places I hunt, I use small coils a lot. Just think Mud what might occur if results are good using the sweet spot/pin point on the 11" DD and much lower sen if one did the same with a small coil. Goodness gracious! HH jim tn

Yeah! I've hit those multidenom stacks where you sort of get an average, even a 2 penny stack hits just a wee bit higher than a single penny...and as you know, I'm pretty good at spills, but this was an eye opener today...this trashy park is impossible to use the PP button in, all a guy gets is one big "wah-wahaaa" I dont know if Ill run at a 42 sens much, but in here it helped...if a fellow ran a small coil n here, it would be great..the trick about using just the center point of the 11" dd depends on the low sens and how high you have it off the grass I think, still, any other object under that big coil will skew the ping, and make one chattering mess, with the tiny little solid ping audible, so a fellow just watches the coil and stabs at that exact spot. I can see where a small coil would be the weapon of choice in here...maybe I'll sell some muskrat hides and get one of those yet! I sure am having fun on your thread Ayeti! cladstabbing is very much enjoyable!

Yep been a fun topic, I bought a small 6.5 inch coil but haven't used it at all yet, I suppose I should get out try it. I just have so much success with the 11dd i havent bothered to put it on yet, but I do have an area specifically picked out for the 6.5 and that's around the basketball court it's a mine field of trash and coins and I strongly feel some "bling" should be in the mix as well, luckily I don't think I have any other detectorists in the area that are on to my small piggy bank of a park so I don't feel pressured or rushed to try to clear the area before someone else gets my stuff.., lol
