Went detecting yesterday at an old park near my home. Found 3 silvers last 2 visits, but no luck this time. Anyways, it was getting late, so I was trying to find one more deep signal before packing up. I came across an area about 5' by 5' and got a few very high pitch tones that I've never heard before on the f70. They were "ultra" high pitch. At the time, I didn't think much about it. Dont know why I didn't investigate it, but I had to go, Just wandering if anyone else experienced this before with the f70. I just got thinking, this was in an area that was not as trashy, and I had sensitivity set at 90, running perfectly stable. This was the first time I was able to run it that high with stability. Hope I didnt miss something good. As I recall, I don't remember seeing any numbers pop up on the screen. Disc 20 Sens 90 Thresh -2 DE 3 Tones.

Tho overload signal gives a high pitch with no numbers on the TID. Could be something big and deep, or something like a flat pop can shallow. Or it could be the mason jars full of silver some old farmer buried, or some copper plates the vikings left, its usually junk for me, Nice work on the silvers!:clapping:
Mud

Mud, it was not overload signals, I am familiar with those. This was very high tones, way higher pitch of a quarter signal. Since for the first time I was able to crank sens up and still very stabile, maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway, next time at that park, I will try and relocate it and see what it is. HH

Ok cool...if they were high pitch tight signals, they could be coins...halfs come in at 92 on my F70...I run DP tones, so they sound higher than Q's...if you can lock on the signal, and raise your coil higher and higher until you lose the signal, this is a good way without digging to sort of tell what is there.. if you can only raise it a few inches, it could very well be a coin, if its a large piece of junk, you could raise your coil nearly a foot with the signal still strong. Please let us know what you discover here, my imagination is running away with me since you have found old silver there...thinking somebody took a tumble and spilled a bunch of silver dollars!.
Mud

Silver seek, mud is most likely right. When I first got my F70 I hit a spot that went so high it sounded like some kind of alien communication. I pressed the coil to the ground and it went into some other zone. I dug and found nothing, maybe aliens after all, or may some myterious electrical power line? Later I had another experiencem and this time right beneath the surface there was a lid from a tin can. Later, again this aliens super high pitch, when I pressed the coil to the ground but this time it was not a surface tin -- and about 6" down it was a flattened beer can. So far this strange signal has led to tin lids, flattened or crushed beer and soda cans and other trash metal on the surface. Still waiting for the jar lid :)
