F75 + 13" Ultimate, Took the plunge.

Well guys went and sold my sterling and gold finds, found since Jan. save the sterling bracelet my wife is so fond of. And put in the order for the 13" Detech Ultimate coil for the F75.

Now since there seems to be a serious lack of good intel on this coil on our beloved 75s. I'm going to get some hours in on this setup and keep an up to date report as to how it does, how it IDs compared to not only the 11" but the 5" as well. And what kind of real world depth to expect from this coil etc. on a standard F75.

We'll see ... I'm really looking to taking this coil to the honey hole and running it through its paces.

Haven't had alot of trouble with caps lately maybe its where I'm hunting. I have found that if I am getting that good obnoxiously loud target that just sounds too good, then I'll keep swinging small passes and watch the iron meter. If it starts spiking then odds are good its a cap. Usually if I'm in no hurry I'll dig it just to be rid of the thing ;) If I don't have alot of time I just keep on my merry way.

But that question is one I hope to be able to answer for us all about the 13"

Looks like the 13" should be here today...... Ahh the decisions! Just had my water machine get here yesterday. So now which toy to play with this weekend

Everyone have a safe and productive weekend

I have a 13 on my gold bug. Gained a few inches in air test over 11 coil.

It does pick up a little EMI , so it might get worse on the F75
The GB runs quiet with stock coil and can run max sens most of the time.

The coil does feel easy to swing for its size. I need to get some the the dirt testing done ,:goodnight:
so for now the jury is out.
Good luck , keep us posted.

Alot of places around here I can run the 75 at 85 + sens and some locations at 90-95 with the 11". With the 5" i can hammer it at 99 sens and 4 disc in De process which from what I understand is a higher gain in that process when below 5 and above 19 disc.

Hope the 13" will be in the same ball park as the 11" as far as stablility goes. If it is I'll be happy.

But nevertheless it is confimed delivered and I think I'll take it to the honey hole tonight and test drive it since we will be taking a large group of kids ( daughters, nephews and neices ) swimming tomorrow and that will let me have time to play with my new wet machine.

First impressions will be incoming :D

So here we are first hunt down. Its sensitive to be sure. Got used to being able to have my cell phone on me now that I have been using the 5" for hunting here of late. That won't work with this coil.

As far as depth I didnt dig any shot shell head stamps @ 10" like I have with the 11" DD bi-axle.
But in all fairness there is alot more in this locations ground then the ball field I found those mentioned head stamps at.

As for the better ground balancing. I can't tell any diffenrence from either of the other two coils. So if there is no bad then I'm good with that.

I did notice a inaccuracy with target depths, but that doesn't seem to be an uncommon thing.

While the thing looked huge ( especially after hunting with a white hockey puck lol ) it was fairly light for its size. But did take some getting used to after soooo many hours with the factory 11 and its profile .

So while I did have to get back into the swing of have multiple targets under the coil at the same time it didn't do badly ( considering the user still adjusting ) . It target ID'd about the same as I'm used to and made no shortage of finds mostly modern clad. 2 wheaties ( no dates yet ) and the kicker I found a 925 CZ 1? 1.5 carat? Stud earring. Then 2" or 3" away I found the other. Original owner must have had them in their pocket for a sports event.

Good luck with the weekend hunt guys,

The testing will continue.

I STILL believe the stock coil is the best overall performance for the F75. The Ultimate coil causes an unbalance to occur on a perfect machine, but most large coils do the same thing.

I really hope Fishers new machine can handle the Virginia red dirt better.
