F75 and EMI freq shift

Ronstar

Well-known member
We have an area where we hunt where the EMI chatter gets heavy. Not sure what they did but a trench was put thru the area recently that hit both the F75 and CTX 3030 pretty hard. Decided this could be good time to experiment with different techniques to minimize the chatter. F75 has ability to shift between seven setting/freq’s which may or may not reduce EMI and being close to other detectors. EMI here happens when coil moving, stationary, up the air, etc.

First thing tried was factory reset and not much help. Worked up thru F settings and F1 was basically quiet. Wait, isnt F1 factory reset? Ok, manual says it will not retain new F setting when turned off. Turned off and then redid factory reset. Went to F settings and it shows F6, not F1. Toggle down to F1 and go about my hunt. End of the day, check F setting and still on F1. Do reset and recheck and now on F6 again. Is there a way to get F1 back as factory default or does this go back to First Texas?

Hi Ronstar.
F1 is not the factory default frequency setting. However it is the most quiet setting for me. I have several locations that are unbearable EMI but F1 runs silent as a field mouse.

I thing F4 is factory default. I'll have to pull it out and check.
