F75 and F75LTD

What is the difference between these two machines? does the LTD go deeper?

Yes for the deeper part. With boost on you can hunt in tall grass and still hit targets. Its amazing.!!

I have the LTD and had the F 75. The LTD has a boost (BP) mode and a cache mode, besides all the other modes that are on the regular F 75. I find the LTD to be at least 2" deeper when using the BP mode and in general, seems to hit targets a bit harder that the F 75 would also hit. It also seems to do a little better on smaller targets, targets smaller then a dime. It also seems to be a little less affected by emi situations. I do find, though, coin hits in the BP mode seem to be more bouncy then the regular F 75. Which, for me is not a problem, as I dig everything repeatable in the coin range. But, it is more of a crap shoot with the LTD as to what the coin might be and whether is is silver, or clad. HH jim tn

I second what Jim and Bart said, the Bp mode on the LTD is great and I use it all the time. I also agree on the bouncy numbers on coins with the LTD in BP mode. One thing I have to remind myself is that the audio and the VID numbers are seperate processes in both the F75 and LTD. They are not 100% related, so for me the audio is the primary indicator especially with the LTD in BP mode. I never use any other mode on the LTD but when I had the regular F75 I thought the VID numbers were more consistant.

The LTD has a different processor.....and incorporates two additional processes. A BP (Boost) process.......and a CL (cache locator) process. The origonal prototype had THREE Boost processes.

Additional depth with the LTD is a matter of conjecture. Where it DOES shine is in situations where you have a air gap between your coil and the dirt (like high grass or leafy overburden in the woods). It will get good target responses a good ways farther off the ground than the F75 will. (in BP mode that is).
Actual increased depth "in the ground" is dependant on ground type and hunting style I guess. I have found that the LTD wont get anything in BP that the F75 wont get in De or JE, PROVIDED YOU CAN GET YOUR COIL ON THE GROUND 100%. I have dug many many targets in the woods with lots of overburden with the LTD.....that I would have walked right over with the F75. BUT, after scraping the overburden off and switching back to DE mode..............I could STILL hear em..but only by scrubbing the coil. The audio is louder and heartier too with the LTD. ( a plus for an older guy with not so perfect hearing)
I hunt pretty much 100% of the time in BP mode now, as it helps compensate for poor swing style, even if you CAN scrub that coil. The LTD seems to be a bit stabler too than the F75.
IMHO the LTD is worth every extra penny and then some. hope this answers some of your questions.

Yes in Bp mode, and cache mode..
