I'm relatively new to this sport. What are the differences in these machines? The FISHER web site only lists the F75 in there product line

Bart, I'm curious too...what will the "boost" and "cache" do for me that the standard F75 won't do? Also, given a basic F75, can Fisher ADD those functions to it?

First..you cannot have the F75 upgraded to an LTD. Well.......I suppose you COULD....but it requires a processor change and different software. Probably aint gonna happen though.
The main difference with the LTD is the ability to detect targets in heavy overburden (woods) and high grass MUCH better than the F75 can. The LTD is louder on most targets too. You can hold the coil a good 4 or 5 inches off the ground and detect targets you have to SCRUB to hear with the F75. Not really any better "in ground" depth................but way better depth in areas where you cant get that coil flat on the dirt.
I have yet to find a practical application (for me) for the Cache locator process though. Could leave it off the machine entirely and I wouldnt miss it.

No Fisher cant add it. Its a whole new board inside. The Boost and Cache will allow you a bit more depth. The BEST thing about it is it allows you to hunt several inches above the ground and still hit targets 7-10" deep. Its truly AMAZING to see.

I highly recommend finding someone with one and having them show you. GREAT for tall grass, corn stalks or like an old torn down house with junk all over where you cant get your coil to the ground. The EMI issues are less of an issue too. Allot easier to tame the machine than the old one. I LOVE mine! My son and I went to a park today that we use to not be able to hunt with my old 75. To much EMI. New one was tons better. Not perfect but easily manageable.

I make any sense at all?? lol

The F-75 LTD and the F-75 SE are identical detectors except for the paint job.
LTD is camo - SE is black

The standard F75 does not have the boost mode or the cashe mode ... too bad the standard F-75 can not be upgraded.
That is the problem when detector makers come out with upgrades and new models so quickly.
Still, the standard F75 is a very worthy detector in its own right.
