F75 finds 1880 Shield Nickel

1 of 16,000 minted. I still can't believe it. 6 inches deep..Solid Nickel on the F75 in 2F mode.

Thanks guys. I am excited about this one. Actually this week the F75 has been real good to me. 4 V nickels and this 1 shield Nickel..All from the same 20 ft square spot.

I swear that V Nickel on the far right side looks like a 1913....Might just be my eyes...

I think the far right nickel is a 1911. I am thinking about putting the 1880 up for auction. I sure could use a new metal detector.

Nice key date find, though in the condition that coin is in (I'd grade it as AG-3 with environmental damage) I don't think you are going to make enough for a new detector, but you might get enough for a nice pinpointer. Good luck with it if you do decide to sell.

Regardless of what you get for it if you do auction it, it is a great low mintage find.
 
A Shield is a great find zax, in its own right, and then to be a 1880 on top of it. :thumbup: HH jim tn
 
I will keep it. Probably won't sell it unless someone offers me some money. . Now there are 15,999 out there...
