Hey Brian,

I got the F75 LTD a few weeks ago and have only been experimenting with it around my yard with different materials (silver/clad coins, gold rings and so forth) in addition to digging up stuff that was already there (junk and one penny). I definitely have a lot to learn about tweaking it in as it is very sensitive and the combinations of settings are seemingly endless, but I am looking forward to mastering this machine as much as I can. I am planning on giving it a serious beach hunting test just after the 4th of July (I live on the Florida Gulf Coast) on dry sand and shallow surf to see what I can come up with there. I know the F75 LTD isn't ideal for saltwater detecting; the user's manual suggests setting the sensitivity in both modes to less than 30, manual ground balancing in Motion All Metal mode and searching in Discrimination mode at greater than 25. Won't that setting of 25+ eliminate a lot of potential jewelry in the foil category (i.e. gold rings, necklaces, etc)? I was thinking of putting it in JE mode on dry sand and adjust it as needed. Any pointers?
Thanks!

Steve

I'm not Brian, but up in the dry sand you can run it just about any way you want. Sen high, BP mode, low or no disc, ect. The wet sand is a different ballgame, but doable. I've not run the low gain sen setting of 1-29 in the wet sand, but a setting of sen 29 in the dirt still gives very nice depth. In emi plagued spots that is one of the setting I use. Good luck, HH jim tn
