Gold jewelry, coils and the F75Ltd and some old beep and dig machines.

I really like the 6.5 inch elliptical concentric coil on the the F75. Thanks for putting some numbers to it that helps quantify why! It also gets me closer to metal poles and fences than any other coil I've tried.

So what type of hunting do you do, are you just out for the coins or do you run lower disc and try to get that gold jewelry? Also what kind of depth are you getting out of the little elliptical? Just trying to find out how people are doing on the gold with the little elliptical. I just done the spread sheet to get the best combination for gold out of the equipment I have.

I also updated the spread sheet to add a coil and some other improvements.

Ron,
I look for jewelry too. F75LTD is one detector I just have not managed to put the coil over gold yet. Some hunts I'll run discrimination at 16 or 17 to knock out the small foil. Some hunts discriminator is in the 0 to 6 range (just a little to cut chatter and let me listen to tones). Some hunts I pick through trash in all metal and watch the meter numbers but pretty much dig all the little targets to clear an area and get rid of the trash so the good targets are more apparent the next time I'm through the area. Kind of depends on time I have, frame of mind and soil digging conditions at the time. Those thing chains probably ID with very low numbers. I'll need to dig out some of my wife's chains and do some tests.

That little elliptical has wiggled out targets from right up against re-enforced concrete sidewalks that I can not get closer than about 2 inches to with the 5 inch DD on the F75TLD. I think about the deepest target I've dug with it was about 7 inches on a good sized ring in the wood chips. Ring looked promising coming out but was highish ID number, mid 50's if I recall correctly. It was gold plated junk.
