F75 SE vs XP Deus

Would there be any benefit in trading my F75 for a Deus? I relic hunt 98% of the time. If anybody has used both I would like to hear your input.
Thanks

don't own a deus but i know the f75 is one of if not the best relic detectors out there..

I have both and both are great machines. The F75 is fast, the Deus is faster. The Deus is wireless the F75 isn't. The F75 can have a Sun Ray pin pointer mounted on it the Deus has to have a handheld pin pointer. The F75 is light, the Deus is lighter. The F75 has one frequency, the Deus has 4 that are switchable on the fly. The F75 has many choices of coil size and type. The Deus has 3. The F75 can use any headphones the Deus uses proprietary headphones (and backphones) The F75 is great on batteries and the Deus has the headphones, the coils and the control head that each has to be charged.
The Deus cost more than the F75. They are both great relic machines. If you are hunting in a bed of nails, I think the Deus has the edge. If the target are really deep then the F75 has the edge. From what I have experienced and have read on the forums, the Deus is more reliable. Both now have 5 year warranties. I bought the Deus from the factory before there was a dealership in the US and have had no issues with it. Again I like both and usually have both with me when I go detecting and decide when I survey the site which one I think will be the best to hunt with.

I DID trade my 75ltd for the Deus and still miss having it at times but I do not regret it. If I can run across a good upgraded one it would be nice to see if they are really improved or just redone. The Deus is definitely the more technologically advanced of the two but that brings it own set of issues. I'm not sure about the statement above on headphones however. You do need an XP receiver (WS4)but with the clip you can run most any set of phones successfully.

11" coil around the Mar/Apr 2014 timeframe. Deus with 11" coil will unmask better than most detectors with 6" coils. I've read it actually defies physics with its ability to unmask.

The deus was bad around Emi in one of my test civil war spots. Although light I felt it was front heavy and the pod rubbed my hand. Depth was so so. I need a lot more time with the Fisher but I like it and happy with purchase. I really need to keep that and my CTX 3030, with different coils for both, all bases should be covered and I can thin the head, lol

I believe Joe is referring to the stock 9 inch, the original 11 inch coil ( which I think was 11x13) and the newer 11 inch round coil.

Ok thanks guys after a lot of reading. I think to hunt relics w I wouldn't be gaining that much going to the Deus to justify spending $400 more dollars. Thanks. Now I have to decide if I want to send mine in for the upgrade. Decisions decisions lol.

When I bought mine the stock coil was the 9 inch and they were in the process of releasing the 13 inch so I had to wait a couple of weeks for inventory to catch up. I think last year is when XP introduced the 11 inch round coil which you could order inplace of the stock 9 inch or buy it as an addtional coil.

Note: When I ordered mine it was with the magnet that held the control unit to the stem but when it arrived it had the slide in connection. XP made the magnet/slide connection and the addtional 13 inch coil at the same time. I believe it was in Mar or Apr 2011.

I have also had both machines. And would give a big +1 to this post. I would've said the exact same thing myself. They are both great relic machines.

Coil size has a lot to do with performance in a bed of nails. The Deus is better than the F-75 when you compare the Deus with the 9" coil versus the F-75 with the 11" coil. When you put the 5" coil on the F-75, it performs better in trash than the Deus with the 9" coil.

As PryorCreekJoe pointed out, the Deus only has 3 coils to choose from. If the Deus offered a small coil that would probably change.

Well I went ahead and bought a Deus. Haven't had a chance to use it yet. Hoping to today. I dread learning a new detector!
