F75 SE

I am getting a F75 SE this week and would like to ask a question....I currently have an Etrac and love it, but several detectors back
I had a CZ 70 Pro Fisher and loved it but wanted to try something different....My question is will the F75 SE be that much better than
the CZ 70 Pro????? the 70 did not have all the horns and whistles but it would find some silver and pin point right to a nats butt. Also
I have been impressed with the Etrac...is the F75SE better than the Etrac????? Just curious as I feel that I am going to love the 75
and I am not going to get rid of the Etrac.

I have both. Your dirt will answer your question for you. In my dirt there's no comparing the two--etrac is far superior in depth and ID and lags the 75 only in ergodynamics. The 75 SE only sees the sand and chips in playgrounds , which even GB in the 90's here and with lots of magnetite and hematite in the dirt , so it struggles even at low sensitivities. Auto sensitivity on the etrac often runs below 10 so if your dirt runs higher than that with the etrac , the 75 may be better in your dirt than mine.

If I were you I'd keep both. They each shine brighter in certain areas. The 75 may cause fatigue to your ears and brain. It is a very sensitive and fast recovery unit and great in high iron. I don't need to say anything about the e-trac......you already know how good that machine is. Try to be patient with the 75 and start off with the default settings...in other words, don't punch the gas too soon, you may run off the road...or wrap it around a tree. I agree with sprchng about the id being much better on the e-trac, the depth, not so, in my neck of the woods.

Elton, congrats on the new machine! Here is 2 cents worth of advice for free. Do yourself a favor and learn the F75 using the small coil and ease into the 11 incher. The Lab and the Fish are very different machines (I have an SE Pro) and asking which is better is like asking are blondes better than brunettes (sexist much?)- I'll stick with the red head I married, but back to more important things. The F75 SE gives you a lot of options that can be confusing. I found tones mostly a matter of preference and you will not need to crank sensitivity up as high as most other machines it has more soup than you should ever need and it makes it seem too noisy to run it too hot. Stick in Boost Process until you are comfortable (you may well never need to change). Give it a fair try and you should love it. There are times the 'Trac will be a better choice (wet sand salt beach for one), but the F75 is a super unit in most settings- IMHO!

Over the years I've have proven that the F75 LTD is superior to all detectors on the market, if, EMI is low and ground minerals are low. Add medium to high EMI and the F75 is all but shut off. Then add medium mineralization with EMI and leave the machine and crank out the Etrac. It all depends on these two factors.

Thanks to all....I am looking forward to taking it out this weekend and see how many pull tabs I can dig....If I could get a penny for every pull
tab I dug I think that I could take a vacation...I am going to start out slow and play with the settings....On my Etrac I set it to 4 tones and that
seems to work for me...the 99 tones makes my head wobble...4 tones are about all my little brain can handle...I will give it a try as soon as
possible and let you guys know what i think...I have a good feeling that the report will be good because if it is close to as good as my
CZ70 Pro was it will pass all the test....let you know in a few days.

Elton,

With the exception of when i first started hunting with the F75, i always ran tones in 3H, it emulates the CZ3D detector in that nickels hit as high tones. I loved getting a mid-tone with 60s on the vdi and past 3-4", almsost always an Indian. When i first started i kept with two tones for a bit untili got acclimated to the audio.

I hope you enjoy the F75 and look forward to seeing the pics!

In my soil the Etrac was close if not about the same as the f75 standard when it came to depth . I very rarely was able to run Etrac above 26 on the sen.if you can run 30 then the Etrac can really punch deep.. I dug less thrash with the Etrac. The f75 Out hunted the Etrac in dense iron sites. Etrac ID is steadier if you are turf hunting.if you hunt cellar holes and iron layed fields the f75 was the machine to use. Etrac struggles some with tiny items. F75 separates better but not by much. Etrac falls on it faces in dense iron. Etrac slams hard on silver and copper but so does the f75. F75 can be prone to emi if you hunt in town. So depending on you site I would keep both machines if you can. I have made many great finds using both machines coin hunting and relic hunting. You really got to nick pic them apart to separate them. I enjoyed using both machines, but recently sold them to try the v3i,which is turning out to be a pretty awesome machine too.
Just take your time with the F75, because it will blow your mind with its power.just ease into it and enjoy the learning process. It is not for the weak hearted lol.
