Was hoping to use the F75 today but it's getting bogged down within the Postal Service. Went to the woods with my 505 instead, this is what I dug up, anyone know if the flat button is civil war, I think it is but not really sure, don't know what the handle went to either, the bottom side is flat, any ideas? Got the two ringer and round ball in the vicinity of the other two finds, not a bad day in the woods, only spent a few hours there

Your right, not much worse than waiting for the postal service bringing that detector to my door step. These areas keep revealing some good finds now and again and there are definitely some areas that my 505 just can't perform right, I can't hardly wait to hit those area's with the F75.

Button looks civil war period. If US is completly round will be civil war period. If corners are squared off a little it will be post civil war. Good finds.
Hi, it may be a Collar Disk rather than a button. The letter U looks to be squared off on the corners, like the type one disk. U S in block letters (1910-1924) These were made of bronze w/ threaded post, 1" diameter. The U S buttons ( GI 30 ) were Army General Service 1 piece, cast pewter, 1808-1830, with 14mm-23mm diameter.
