F75 & the CL processor

I have been thinking of trying the CL processor for coin hunting and I was wondering if anybody out there is using it and what kind of success you are you having?

I tried it for maybe an hour last week with the 11" coil and found my first 2 pennies with it, and they were not all that deep maybe in the 5 to 6 inch range.

My plan for tomorrows hunt is the 5x10 DD elliptical coil for better target separation and to give the CL processors an all day run. With disc set just below zinc's, high sensitivity 80's and 90's.

I have the Teknetics T2 se with dst and I've used the CL Mode. I had to sweep slow with it. I at least think its the deepest mode. I'm also interested in what you think about the Cl mode after a day with it using the 5x10 dd coil. I've been thinking about buying that coil for separation and coverage.

I will start off by saying neither my brother or myself had anything close to a good day, but we had good weather and the ground was nice and damp, easy digging. No silver and low coin count.

I stayed with CL and the 5x10 coil all but the last hour and I changed to BP and the 5" round.

As for CL all the targets that I got that seemed to be on the deep side I was checking with the BP processor and I got an equal response on both. After digging all my targets they were 6" or less. I don't care for the CL processor because it is so slow I was over running my targets and would have to back up to locate the target again. I think it is deeper on bigger targets but on dime quarter size targets the CL and BP are about the same, so for me I think I will stay with BP.

Now I felt like the 5x10 was doing a good job on depth and separation. This coil seems to be like the CL and BP processor, the 11" and the 5x10 see quarters and and dime size targets about the same depth. If you get into bigger targets the 11" will see them a littler deeper than the 5x10, I got this information from air testing. So for me I thing the 5x10 is a better choice over the 11" stock coil.

Now our last hour, we had stopped hunting and went to the truck to get something to drink. We didn't have time to drive to a new spot so we decided to re-hunt a small section that had given up some silver and wheat pennies in the past. So I put the 5" on the stick and switched to BP, surprised I found 3 clad quarters and 2 more pennies. So the 5" done the best for separation today.

There was a poster on here a few years ago that had some success using the CL mode on his F75 LTD. He found that by using a very low sensitivity (like 15-20) that it was stable and super deep and he was able to go a little bit faster then if the sensitivity was cranked up. For him it was working, but I've not verified it myself.
