Hi fellow hunters, and thanks for looking/ reply to my questions. I am new to the detector scene, and I was out hunting today and came up with a few questions to ask about. I just received my machine on Monday, so I'm fairly new, so ill give you the best disc rupturing I can give. The place that I hunted was : beach by a salt water lake. Now here are some questions, sorry if they are stupid
( I search in discrim mode)
1: fast grab. I'm not sure if I am doing this right. The manual says to "push the trigger forward with your machine about a foot off the ground, then put it up and down between 1-6 inches , about twice a second" . So first off, pumping it twice a second is very fast up and down, I don't know how long to do it for. I try it for 3 sec or sometimes 15 sec, but it seems to have the same results (or I think it does). My fe3o4 meter goes up but when I stop pushing the tigger forward, it goes back to nothing( this is on any ground for me) I thought that it stayed at a certain level.
Specs: sens-60-75 , dic-15, notch- cant remember, #tones- 2f
2: when I am hunting, do I just sweep back and forth, and when I hear something, I then use the trigger to find it? Or do I hold in the trigger the whole time to find things?
3: when I was at the beach, I would sweep over something with a strong signal, the screen would show (let's say 5), I assume that's inches. So I would dig and find nothing, so I would pass the machine over again and it would be either A: nothing there or in the pile of sand I dug or B: the signal is now a few inches over and I repeat the process with nothing to find!!
4: I used the 11" dd the whole time, what is the exact point on the DD that pinpoints the object? Or is it over the whole area of the coil?
5: I also got covers for my coils. It doesn't seem that the 5" one with fit on! Actual looks 1/4 inch too small and I Tried for 10 min to jam it on and I couldn't, the only thing I didn't use was the hammer to get it on.
6: also seems that I can't go about 6 feet near the salt water or my machine goes crazy, any tips?
That's all for now, I'll try to post the pic of the stuff I found, but not sure how , thanks
damn I can't, because my IPhone takes too big pics! Bahhhh
