F75ltd. Question

c t

New member
First off HH. 2013 to all. A friend asked me to post this question. Can the pinpoint sensitivity be adjusted. As you can on the t2. And. Park hunting for coins best process and number of tones. In a park that has been hunted for many years. Thank you in advance. C t.

No Pinpoint can not be adjusted for sensitivity like the T2 LTD.... wish it could be !.

Fisher says this about the site you asked about for hunting.....

In areas which have been pounded to death and were seemingly hunted out, even by the predecessor version of the Fisher F75, the Boost process can make such sites productive again. By detecting targets which were just out of reach of other machines, or by lengthening the duration of good sounds that were too hard to hear amid trash sounds, old sites are again productive. If a site has been especially productive in the past, you may want to revisit it using the Cache Locating process and utilize a very slow sweep.
Most of the foregoing techniques apply both to the Discrimination Mode where the process is selected, and to the corresponding Motion All Metals Mode, whose response characteristics are also modified when the Boost and Cache Locating processes are selected.
While searching in bP or CL process, you may also want to periodically toggle back to dE process. Press-and-Hold the MENU button to temporarily engage the dE process. For users familiar with the F75 default process, this can serve as a target check. Under some conditions, the default process may identify targets more accurately. Targets yielding a marginal response in one process may sound different in another process. If you are new to the F75, toggling back to default process from bP or CL can serve as a learning tool to understand the different response characteristics of the different processe

I myself like the De mode with 3 tones............ and will switch to Bp mode if grass is tall.... Remember if you switch to cache process mode swing slower and listen well for targets..

Hi Elton. And thank you for the reply. The sens adj for pinpoint is a feature I truly like re the t2se. Okay so no go for the f75 ltd. And I'll let dean know you're settings. De 3 bp if needed. In high foliage. That's interesting that fisher. Suggests bp or cl. Guess some parks are cleaner than others! The one I have in mind has been around since 1830! A bit trashy. Elton would bp or cl work on a fairly clean beach. Dry sand For added depth or sens? Thank you HH. C t

I have never hunted the beaches with a F75 or T2. I use a dedicated beach machine for that..

I do know you have to manual GB the F75 for Salt water beaches. as The fast Grab will not do it... I also know it is hard to go from beach sand ( Dry) to wet black sand on any beach with the F75's..

I'm not saying you can not use the 75 on a beach. I'm only saying that is not a specific use built into the detector..

Fisher says...........................

All Fisher Research Labs searchcoils are waterproof, allowing you to search in shallow water about two feet deep. If searching around water, be careful not to get the electronics housing wet. Avoid salt spray, as it will work its way into the control housing and damage the electronics -- such damage is not covered by the warranty.
Both fresh and saltwater beaches are popular places for metal detecting. Vacationers lose money and jewelry playing in the sand and in the water. It is usually easy to dig in a beach environment, and metal detecting is permitted on most beaches. Occasionally you may be able to help someone recover a piece of jewelry they have lost minutes before; this is a gratifying experience.

When searching on a beach, it is best to either search in Motion All Metal mode, or to search with the discrimination level set just high enough to eliminate iron, because the value of beach finds is largely in the jewelry rather than in the coins. You will dig a lot of aluminum trash, but the digging is easy, and you can tell people that you are helping to clean up the beach and make it safer for people's feet. We recommend the use of a special sand scoop for recovering valuables from the sand quickly -- most metal detector dealers sell these.
The electrical conductivity of the water itself can pose some challenges. You may get false signals when going into and coming out of the water, making it necessary to pay careful attention to keep the coil either in or out of the water, but not to touch the surface. This effect may be observed in either fresh or saltwater.
Saltwater Hunting
Saltwater is highly conductive, and produces a strong signal which is like that of metal. The F75 is not specifically designed for high performance in saltwater, but can be used in this environment.
If you desire to search in or over saltwater, the following measures will usually be sufficient to silence the saltwater response while retaining acceptable sensitivity: 1. Set the sensitivity in both modes to less than 30. 2. Ground balance the machine manually in Motion All Metal mode. 3. Search in the Discrimination mode with a discrimination setting higher than 25.

With respect to beach hunting: you can fast grab most places over dry sand; even at salt water beaches. When you get to the damp and wet sand, you need to manually ground balance and stay on top of the ground balance and keep it set spot on. When you have it set up correctly the F75 can do very well. That said, it is not a detector I normally pack for a beach trip.

Link is to a video with a normal F75 over wet salt sand. The LTD version sets up the same way. Tinfoil posted about using the F75 at the beach (before Mark's video came out and some a little after that) and when the LTD came out there were some more posts by various folks about checking it out at the beach.

Hi. Thanks Elton and TVR. I will pass this on to dean. I don't think he will hunt the wet. But you never. He doesn't even like to get his detectors dirty let alone wet!!!!! Elton how in the world do you put all that info up at the drop of a hat? I takes me an hour to write a simple response. And TVR. I watched that video. Interesting. Thank you. It looks to me like the f75 does ok on the wet stuff. I'm looking forward to comparing the t2se to the f75 ltd. I might even wrap the t2 in cammo sport tape!hahahaha. Thank you. Guys for the replies. HH. C t. Tom

? Have been using the F75se for abount 4 month's 1 1/2 month's because of weather. Here we go, at he Park i put a dime at 10" in the Sand at the volleyball court, Setting's -- 75 sen--1 on the notch--15 on dic de mode-- got no hit-- je mode no hit a little chopy here and their--cl no hit--dp no hit by that i mean chopy -- gb was around 87-88. I gb each time i changed mode's. But in the PF mode it rocked picked it up like it was on top of the sand. Gentleman was their with his minelab i talked to him he came over tryed it nothing. I went to the beach is a fresh water about 20 min's from were i was at it killed the coins in PF mode i would go back and forth in the modes now on the 2'to 5' coins all modes work great but on the deeper coins the PF mode blew them away maybe they have a mode ass backwards on my. Anybody else tryed this?

Just tested the 75ltd. Camo. First impressions. Much tighter than t2se. By this I mean narrower scan pattern coil hot tip to tip but width of signal and pinpoint much better. In je de. and boost! As far as the sand I just got the machine. But from what I hear j. Je. Boost and cli Reflect back due to sense sandy hunting. De or pf. Supposed to work well. I will hit the sand. Soon and check the results. 75 ltd or se. Seem to be impressive. However in the test garden. On deep lead and clad. Ground balanced 86. Not doing well bliss hits no trouble. Might make a few adjustments and try again will try the beach this weekend maybe. Depending on family plans. Thank you to everyone that answerd. The 75 questions. HH. 2013. To all. C t

Interesting. I have not used PF much. Could be that detecting a target in freshly disturbed sand is kind of like detecting a target in freshly plowed field. May have to break my BP habit and hunt more with other modes!
