Factory Mode or your own settings?

When your looking at depth, would you use your factory setting or would you turn up the sensitivity. I am using a GTP1350. Let me know your thoughts!

On my GTI 2500 I use the large12.5 coil , all metel mode and the sensitivity at 6-7.5 range. Now different soils my need different settings, but this works good in the area that I live in. I have never used the 1350 but I hope this helps. HAPPY HUNTING

I have a 1500 and use factory settings. I would not increase your sensitivity much above factory settings. Your 1350 should pick up targets(coins) under nominal conditions anywhere between 6-8 inches. I would refer you to sensitivity issues mention on previous post on this site.

Since the 1350 is ultra-snsitive to begin with I would start out at 6 or 6.5 on sensitivity then work your way up as ground conditions allow. But remember, sensitivity does not equate to depth. The signal doesn't go deeper into the ground as you increase sensitivity as many believe. It just makes your coil more sensitive to the target you hope to find but it also makes it more sensitive to all the mineralization in the ground and to every piece of junk that was ever dropped.

Bill's right. The detecting matrix is already present, increasing sensitivity just makes the coil more sensitive to targets in the matrix. It could help with depth in the "fringe" area though which will give the illusion of more depth.:garrett:
