Fall Hunt

One of the lake beaches I hunt had a post on the bulletin board ladies diamond ring lost on the beach the last time hunted so back to the park.I live in Oxford MI so the drive puts me in the Flint area so I have to have my Genesee Metal Detector Permit.Upon arriving at the park I noticed cars in the parking lot over looking the lake beach which is strange for a day with 50 degree temps and a 25mph wind gust. The main side walk runs straight down hill for about 200 yards to a large pavillion probably 50 x 150 ft. on the edge of the beach which ran 150 wide with sand for about a quarter of a mile. The railing had lace running the lenght of the walk with flower pots placed at intervals. All the women had long ankle lenght black silk dress and black tops and the men dreesed in black.I took an alternative route to the beach not to interrupt anything and noticed about a dozen wooded chairs placed at the base of the sidewalk.Anyway I kept my distance from the event with a layer under my jacket I could feel a bite of cold air on my face with the wind gust blowing cool air across the lake. The people just standing there with no coats for the wedding made me feel even more cold.Anyway I searched the beach but kept my distance from the ceremony and out of the photographer's range.I found about 2 dollars in clad.I did glance ever once in a while during the ceremony and watched the bride dressed in white walk down the walk and looked when I heard the cheering of the final part.I took the Sovereign on land for a short hunt finding a 1910 wheat before leaving.Bottom line enjoy life on any of you journey.LOL I kept thinking the odds are not in their favor 50 % divorce rate.Later Ron

Well done for keeping out of the way of the photographer - but the evil in me can see the funny side of every wedding photo having a guy with a detector in the background.

Wedding = two more rings in circulation to lose..............

Are you going back again to continue the hunt for the diamond ring - would be a nice find and return...........

I missed a ring loss on my regular beach - few weeks ago when I was busy, another detectorist found it which was good, lady was extremely happy. Another one I am still looking out for, I think its likely to have been found, still a chance though.

LOL,you never know I may end up in a photo some where. It will add the park character to the wedding.I do have a Tux in a box I never wore which I'll wear from now on for these situations..

 i bet some of the invites were thinking seeing you :-

now thats what you call forsight, having the detectorist on hand just in case

or
real well organised, even a detectorist on standby just in case.

Maybe it was this couples wedding
