fall is a hard time of year.

This time of year is difficult because in Montana hunting season has started.I'm in a dilemma to go prospect or hunt.I went hunting last weekend for a bit to get my two short hairs some much needed exercise to only pull porcupine quills for about 30 Min's but good work out for both of us.I keep drifting back in my mind to my last gold trip and thought it wasn't as frustrating as last hunting trip had ending, don't get me wrong i love to hunt but being torn between two hobbies sucks for me right now.

Fall is the detecting season for me, orange hat and all. Yes there are places that I will not go unless it is a Sunday (no hunting on PA on Sunday), but as soon as the first frost hits, the weeds are down, the fair weather outdoors people are gone, it's time to start using those saved up personal days! Not only will I detect as much as possible, but it's site scouting time as well. Hopefully I will find sites that I can do in the summer from what I see in the fall. If the ground isn't frozen in the winter, I have been known to hunt with hand warmers too. I found a few sites last fall that I couldn't get to before the weeds got high, I have them marked on my GPS and I'm just waiting!

fall is a hard time of year. for me because I really hate and dread the cold weather and winter that is around the corner coming soon. I do not like any cold north country and would much rather live in a place or be a seasonal snowbird where there is a warm winter being a reasonably acceptable warm weather all year around like in Florida, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Hawaii, New Zealand, or Australia which also have all 12 months of metal detecting. I cannot leave because I have to take care of my older parents as they are depending on me for help because they are much more important than any cold weather.

I envy you. I always wanted to live in Montana ever since I saw the movie Jeramia Johnson. It is so beautiful there! Also you can pan for gold and detect. That is awesome!

Im thinking the fall would be a great time to be in Montana... I just a ways west of you in north Idaho. Im a hunter too, but I keep my detector close by.

That is great that you respect your parents enough to help them :clapping:
