Fancy piece o metal with lion and knight

I found this approx 6" deep wit my DFX. It was fold in half so I straightened it out some. It had some color on it but flaked of instantly when I rubed it. It is approximately 2" by 3". stursy piece of metal and I cannot find a mounting point for it. (no holes,screws, or place for pinning. Any help would be appreciated.
