Favorite Tesoro

Compadre. Bottom end discrimination. In my sites, I never found enough difference in depth for the other Tesoros.

Eldorado. Compared to the Vaquero, on paper they are pretty much the same, except the Eldorado is around 10 Khz whereas the vaquero is around 14 Khz. The lower the Khz, the easier it is to find silver....

Golden UMax New tone. Love Tone I.D. and 4 Perfect for My ears. I even have My Etrac set at 4 Tones.

Today I found an 1867 indian head cent with my golden sabre so I guess my golden sabre is my favorite. But tomorrow you never know...

Had this same machine a year or so ago and let it go, was doing some trading this last week and ended up getting it back. Prob will keep it this time :)

The Eldorado is the plastic one.

Lobo SuperTraq as light, ez to use, many modes of operation, handles horrible ground conditions, great on gold and warrantied for life. John

I have always wondered about the LST and the X2 as well.

What coil do you run on you LST? That small elliptical that came stock or have you replaced it with something else?

That's a tough question for me. I have many. Each shine in different types of hunting.

Mild ground general coin and jewelry:
Compadre or Mojave for ease of use
Deleon if I want a screen

Tough ground need GB:
Coin and jewelry: outlaw or bandido II micromax
Relic: vaquero

Favorite all around in mild soil is compadre
Favorite GB machine for general hunting is bandido II micromax (outlaw if I didn't have a b2 micromax)

I can't speak for any machines not in my signature as I haven't used them. But for what I have those are my picks

Mine would be the UK version of the Vaquero which is running at 19khz,fixed/manual GB,Tejon battery box, high tone, and many other internal tweaks that make it basically like running on steroids, hate the stock 11x8 coil but love it with the NEL Snake 6.5''x3.5'' coil on it,terrific for trashy roman sites and getting in between the stubble rows come harvest time. But the target separation is its winning trump card with that small coil on.

Of the three Tesoros that I have used; the Golden micromax (original tones), the Outlaw, and the Mojave... I prefer the Golden. It’s just fun to use, plain and simple. I didn’t put a lot of time on the Outlaw before having to part with it, and the Mojave still needs to be broken in, so my preference is a bit biased. Maybe I will have a different opinion by the end of the coming summer.

I liked the Compadre and the Golden the best. The Compadre was just a joy to use: simple and highly sensitive. The golden was a great coin hunter in parks. When you heard that high tone, it was almost always a coin.

I just got a Mojave but have not tried it out yet. They say its as good as or better than the Compadre. We'll see.

I've heard of a smaller elliptical that was used on the original lobo. Not sure if that was the 3x7 though. They are hard to find

The Eldorado, both the metal box original and the u max version. My friend had several Civil War relics in his test garden, some were very deep.
My small box Eldorado with the 10" concentric coil would hit everything, even down to 16-18 inches on the larger relics.
