Feel like I have a target painted on my forehead...I hate automobiles

Pete in MI

New member
After replacing the muffler, replacing all the brakes, replacing power steering lines, replacing the serpentine belt, replacing the rear heater vacuum control, replacing a front grommet and the drivers side control arm and other stuff I forgot....

the head gasket is cracked - letting antifreeze into the engine cylinder - making it misfire, use up antifreeze and would cost yet another $300 to fix and that fix is without guarantee it would work. If it gets worse the van may stop entirely, leaving us stranded. I'm depressed. Oh well..bedtime - another night of work tonight then 2 days off. Nite all.

you be blessed by some good hearted soul with a different auto that runs good and won't cause you so much trouble! Cars get old and the parts wear out from age or excess use just like our bodies! Keep the faith, for Jesus is preparing to come and take His saints home and soon! Just remember Love conquers all! Hope you have 2 days off of peace with better circumstances with your auto and in your work....God will provide for His own but not the way we want Him to do many times. for God is good to His own! Amen! Ma Betty

Times will get better. God has a perfect plan. Praying here.

Man sounds like you are having a rough time. Will keep yall in my prayers.

Don't feel bad, I broke a bolt on the thermostat cover and don't know to get it out any suggestions!

Drill and easy out is the 'only' way you'll get it out, if you broke the head off the bolt at block level. If you broke the head off, at the top of the goose neck, you may get lucky and have enough sticking out to get it out with a vice grips.

pete, what about going to salvation army and or good will and asking them for another vehicle? they do that type of thing.
a used head from the junk yard wouldn't cost much.
if i lived down the street id come over and help you out.

Thanks SS I will try that and if that don't work I will beat it with a sledge hammer!
