Festival spot for a couple hours Friday

Hit the old festival spot where I found the nickles and this time I must have found the dime pitch area along with loads of shreaded cans and various garbage. The item on left appears to be an old junk ring that was straightened out over years in plowed field? The reddish ring on right was junk bling and sure wasn't from back in the days they had these festivals. Nice to dig some silver for a change :)

Nice finds. How did you research that site? Not your location, but methods, if you dont mind sharing. Ive always thought about carbivsls snd festival sites, but havent seen any references on old maps. Appreciate any advice on that.
PM if necessary.
Regards,
Mike

Mike I do research in 2 ways, old maps are invaluable for old home sites and places people gathered my second method gets tougher every day I LOVE to chat with old timers problem is I am now one of them :) this old spot was found through a local old time farmer and when we where detecting his fields we always went in to show him our finds and chat he is actually the one who guided us to several old places that nobody would ever find without talking to people like him. He said"you boys know where that old 1 room schoolhouse is on ******** Road headed toward *******ville" we said sure do, he says "well when I was a kid we always had picnics and festivals behind that in whats now a farm field" he is 82 years old easy math no matter what he considered as being a kid.

Good points, for sure. I too talk to older gents, when possible. Prob is their memory is sometimes not as fresh. Thx
