Final GQ SS config...before it goes to it's new home

I finished the new and improved GQ SS modified setup. I was able to further lighten the weight and improve on the enclosure. I removed one of the mods that proved to not be that worthwhile.
I have sold the whole setup to Paul Palomo...he will be using it at the beaches of rthe west coast. This will be a good test for the filter mod and the DD coils. These mods should be a huge improvement in nast black sand beaches.

Hello Scott,
I've always been skeptical of buying detectors that have been modified by others unless the person is well know in our field, When first viewing your F/S post and seeing your name as the person to modify this GG SS I was not worried but instead felt privileged to have a machine owned and modified by one of the best in our field. This is the second time such an honor has taken place with buying a modified detector, Terry Crenshaw sold me his Modified Headhunter Pi which is an outstanding working Pi here in California
I'm looking forward to using the unit here in our California beaches as well as the Mojave desert searching for gold nuggets. "What a dream come true" to own a machine that operates in the high desert of Mojave or the Sunny beaches of California.
Thanks for the great package deal, I hope to return the favor in the future
Thanks again,
HH, Paul (Ca)

Hello Jeff,
Because Terry lives in Hawaii, Certain conditions cause interference affecting the HH Pi including most parts of California. He increased the SAT speed and changed over to a smaller 10" center mounted coil made by Eric foster, The coil was originally made for his CS-7 but turned out to work best with the Headhunter PI. The unit responds well with 10" to 11" inches on nickels and up to 14" inches on large gold rings.
I used the HH Pi today with excellent results at one of our best Summertime beaches, Managed to find one ring and a nice large ear ring.

The final assmebly for Paul. This shows the unit with the hipmounted battery and headphones....stole the idea from Minelab...one of the few ideas of theirs i like when a battery is to heavy or I want it to be hipmounted.
Unit is almost set Paul....had a lot of final tweaking to get it set for you at the beach.

With that battery set-up the unit should operate over 40 hours per charge The filter mod and the DD coils will be a major improvement in some areas must detectors lose stability, I know of one beach up North that's tough on Pi units and now with this set-up the GG SS should work well.
Can't wait to use here this coming Sunday, Looks great Scott

Hi Scott,
Don't worry, you didn't steal it from Minelab. When I designed the new Goldscan in 1992, I used a belt mounted rechargeable battery pack connected by a curly lead to the detector power supply box under the armrest. The battery box also accomodated the jack socket for the phones. Some of these units went to Australia. Maybe Minelab saw one
I've no problems with it. It's a good idea for those heavy battery packs and is free for all to use.
Eric.
