Finally found silver with the V!

At some point I want to get the 8" donut. After reading Tabman's posts of his on the Golden, I want to try it on the V. I know I sure like this 5.75.

I would like to try one on the tejon.I just bet this has not been found out good yet.That coil on the v just sounds good to me.8" concentric.

I wouldn't let one or two hunts with a certain coil make a decision for you unless you have the funds. I'm not sayin it's a bad coil, but I'm sure the stock or 5.75 coil could of done just the same, they just weren't being used that day. I've been trying to decide on a 10" for my Vaquero for a couple months now and luckily Rusty Henry is sending me one off of a demo lobo super traq to try for myself and see if it helps at all.

Keep us posted on the Vaquero + 10" coil. I'm thinking that you might need a bigger shovel.

Thanks tabman, I'm hoping that will be the case. Rusty is even curious himself because he doesn't think it will have an advantage over the other two coils I have depth wise. Where I'm hunting is mineralized in spots and trashy, so I'm hoping it can pick through the trash and find me some silver. Also I'm hoping it might be useful in parks to find rings. I'm definitely thankful I get to demo one. I got lucky cuz it hasn't been sent back from the factory yet so it won't cost him extra shipping. Now spring just needs to get here

I'm not concerned about the depth with the 5.75. Seriously, it goes deeper than any coins around here. I really like the definition of targets I get with this smaller coil.

Yep, as they say most coins (even way old ones) are found in the 4-6" range. The 5.75 should be more than deep enough. My Vaquero doesn't airtest with the fascinating numbers some do, but I still have confidence it wil find it (if its actually there to find). Plus the 5.75 DD is a HUGE improvement in high mineralization. In the gold nuggetshooting areas here I can't even use the stock coil cause it will constantly hit on heavy black sand concentrations. The DD doesn't seems to sweat it!

It was addressed to you. And thats too bad there isnt anybody close, it would be nice for you to be able to try a different coil, it might increase your silver take.

I've never checked it out, but It would be an interesting study to find the ratio of silver found from one brand/model to the next.

IMO, coil choice has more to do with it. Big and round is the way to go for deep silver, very thin coils like the cleansweep for target separation amongst junk.
However, there seems to be one brand that consistently has people struggling (especially with silver), if you look through forums. It ain't Tesoro (bless) or White's or Fisher or Minelab or Technetics or Delta or any of the other Euro brands.

Ok big and round does make sense. The deeper the better. So does it start with a 'G'?
