Finally got a diamond tester and it's not good news.

I finally broke down and bought a diamond tester. Gulf Hunter got me to thinking about a diamond ring I recently posted. The tester came in the mail. I had 2 diamond rings from last year and one from this year I wanted to test. They are all 14K. The one on the right I found and posted on the forum just last month. No green light for any of them. I think they are all CZ. Call that a newbie mistake on my part. I know you veterans have been testing your finds for a while. Well, I

Did you check the diamond tester out on something you KNOW is a diamond? Reminds me of a time when I was changing a light fixture... I turned off the power and checked the wires with a tester. Hmmm. No light, no power, good! I then grabbed both wires and fried myself while on a ladder. Muttering under my breath, I poked the tester ends into a live socket and no light. The tester was bad. :)

Did you tested the tester ? Do you have one diamond that tested positive ? I find it doubtfull that 14K jewelry would be fitted with only CZ... heack we even find good ones on 10K settings!

I agree with the others, just don't seem right all three tested no-go. 14KT? Make sure your not slipping off the top of stone and touching the gold. It works by conducting heat, a diamond is a good heat conductor.
So much so if you place a unmounted stone in your hand and test it - not a good idea. Will get hot very quick.
