Finally got a new house

Well after 3 months of trying to buy the silly house I finally closed on it yesterday. Its a foreclosure so will take a little remodeling. But to my surprise I found much of the wiring gone from under the house and in the garage. Someone apparently needed the copper more than me. On the bright side... its on an acre of land that I can hunt all I want :) Cant wait to see if i find anything. I really need to learn how to do this whole metal detecting thing a little better. Cant wait till spring. :)

When the time is right, just shout and the crew here will help all they can. How old is the house?

Congrats on your closing on your home...foreclosures take a while, but usually a better deal in the price! Sorry to hear that the copper wire was stolen....theives are out there everywhere to get something for nothing! 'Tis a very sad world when liars and theives seem to rule! May God Bless you to find lots of goodies and enjoy your home with prayers and love filling it because a family that prays together stays together....May we all keep God, in Jesus' name, as the head of our family for a peaceful home atmosphere! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks for all the congrats! We're all having a "good time" scraping all the popcorn off the ceilings at the moment, next the carpet goes. --- Mike the house was built in 1988 so its not that old... however everything is original to the house so bleh we're tearing stuff out left and right. They smoked in the house for 20 years I might add.. so everything will be scrubbed clean and coated with kilz primer and paint. I am not a carpet fan anyways so i'll be laying hardwoods throughout. Cant wait to get it all done so I can move out of the in-laws place!! God is good though and we thank him for providing us a place to live for the last 3 months.
The neighbors stopped in and they were really nice. They also said on their property there used to be a house built in the early 1900s and as the conversation went that direction of course I told them I detect :) The house used to be in what is now a pasture with donkeys in it so he said I could go whenever I wanted woo hoo!

Again thanks for the congrats God bless you all!

Ya got a big project ahead of you. Have fun and look forward to the end results!

Gosh...when I was much younger, my livelihood was as a building contractor. If I had the energy, as well as the where-with-all, I'd be happy to head your way and help you rebuild. But I guess I'll have to sit this one out, as I've had considerable pain with my right shoulder and upper/right back muscles. Slowly it's betting better and hopefully I'll be able to swing a detector come spring.

Hi Sunbeard.....hope the house comes along great and you get moved in sooner and not later! Just remember that even though the house was built in the 80's the land has always been there and you never know what was built on the land before, so go :detecting: when you are able to do so and think good thoughts of finding some fine goodies & relics! God is good and guides our footsteps in the pathway of Jesus Christ, Who helps and blesses us when we truly believe in and obey the Living Word of God, for He is the Living Word! Amen! Ma Betty

Thanks Ma Betty
You make an excellent point! This is near Chattanooga and all kinds of activity has happened in the last 2-300 years around this area. In the 60's this week for a change so guess what Im gonna be doing when I can sneak outside :detecting:

You are welcome Sunbeard and, yes, if it is in the 60's I think I know where your wife can find you when not in the house working!! Wow, it has warmed up a lot here and melted a lot of that ice, sleet and white stuff.....even my driveway is passable again! I am glad because I've got to get out soon to go to the old doc and run errands! It is and will be too muddy and sloppy to MD in my part of the woods....even if I could! May you be blessed to go :detecting: and find lots of goodies! Amen! Ma Betty

Congrats on the new place...it will be home before you know it! We would love to see pics of your remodel! HINT, HINT :)

just bought a foreclosed house and he found out after he bought it all the wiring in the ENTIRE house was gone and they even took the joist that hold up the house and as a result the entire house is now sagged by over 1/2" in the center. As a result every single window, door frame and all the plumbing are out of whack. Now he had to hire an engineer to hoist the house back up to level. The Engineer said it will take 8 months to a year and he cannot back out of the purchase either. It is a real nightmare. I hope you don't have any other surprises waiting for you either. Best Wishes. PEACE:RONB

Guess he bought it AS IS and now has it nt matter what....sure is a shame, too! It really irritates me when people rip off other people, which is soooo prevelent in this old sinful world today! Please come quickly, Lord Jesus! Amen!

You could get famous on TV. You might even get paid. In the old days you could have called Mack & Meyer for Hire. !!!!!! :lmfao: PEACE:RONB
