Woo, it really is deeper I got better clearer signals in disq even to my 8" dime in ground but this dime has had no time to get a mineral halo yeat , But when i switched into all metal Holy Frog legs i could lift the coil 3" off the ground and still get a very good signal on the 8" deep dime and my soil has lots of black sand in it the way to get deep in all metal is get a good ground balance then set the threshould to just whear its going to start making noise and woo she goes deep , I have made no post for finds only because ive not goten out exept in the farm feild whear i found a 10" nail and some shotgun shells at shalower depths later Gunnar MN

Gunnar on page 13 in the manual about half way down in dark black letters it say's -quote( It is recommended to search in "discriminate" mode to achieve the best depth.By the way i tried out the musky with the 15" WOT and it was great,i can't really lie and talk about a big noticeable difference in depth from the stock 10" but the coverage, well you can imagine a 15" pizza pan going through the park! And can you believe it the Coiltek 15" WOT is lighter than the stock 10" wow! Went to hard hit area of the park that i hunted with the sovereign, tejon, and vaquero, and still squeezed a fare amount of clad and two wheat's a key and a few other goodies. Not bad for first day out with a 15"DD, the big DD's can really be a challenge to work.I can't wait to take it down the beach! i know it would have to shine there,or a big farm field would be great! And to think there is a 18" made for the musketeer! i better just practice with the 15 for now.Good luck with your new musky.Chucky.
