Never has this bug before and it's a livin bitch and I don't want it anymore. It just snuk up on me out of nowhere and slammed me right down - like getting run over by a truck.

I have had it twice!

The first time it was as if I had had a cat in my lungs scratching the hell out of them everytime I coughed or sneezed (which was frequently) I had a second bought once in the summer but that time wasn't as bad. I have learned not to take chest colds and bronchitis lightly.

Take it easy UW as when you think you are feeling fantastic again it can come back with a vengence! I guess they have you on those large pink horse pills ethrymicin? After a few days of taking the antibiotic I started feeling so fantastic I tried to get out of bed and as you said was so weak I fell flat on my ass! So I stayed in bed a few more days after that.

Yeah that's the drill, a big hypo in the butt and the big, pink, horse pills. I haven't hit fantastic yet but I'll take it easy in case I do. Don't want to do this gig anymore for a very long time. Hope you don't have to do it anymore. It just sorta sneaks up on you and slams you right to the floor. Take care.

Yeah things are picking up slightly. I've been up for several hours and it's beginning to tell on me. I start feeling like I've been run over by a truck.

Sorry to hear about the serious health problems. Like me, you are getting too old for that crap. When you get over this one, check with your doctor about a Flu and a Pneumonia shot. You only need two pneumonia shots to last you the rest of your life. It is well worth it to help prevent what you have been going through. Hope you are better real soon.
 
I get a flu shot every year and always have people tell me that it's bogus, and that they don't need it. All it takes is one really bad bug that puts a guy down hard for a week or two, to rethink that mind set. I'll stick with my shot. Get some soup in you buddy and sleep it off when you can. Good luck.

I get the flu shot yearly and the pneumonia shot which is good for 5 years.
So far so good...

Sorry to hear you were down for the count, but you are rallying back, I missed my flu shot this year , but am up to date with the pneumonia shot. Will be 77 in Apr so a dose of pneumonia could send me to the promise land. Hang in there Bill spring is just around the corner. Get healthy. all the best Ken
 
Being only 40 or so miles from you it is likely we have had the same bug.
My daughter is a high school student and my wife is a school teacer.....needless to say we get every bug that mekes the rounds. A week ago we went to a comedy night at a local pub. I had dinner with two beers. The next morning I am hugging the comode and feeling like that truck that hit you also got me. Swore off all booze forever until my wife let me know that the entire school she works at is having the same symptoms. Never thought that the third graders of this world would be so sick from only two beers so I guess the brew wasn't to blame.
Stay still and keep filling up on fluids...You have been sick before and will survive this battle too.
Hope you have someone to do the shopping and errands for you.

Thats funny Gordy! Bill, I'm so sorry you have been feeling so bad. That explains why the forum has been so slow! I hope you feel well soon and get that pneumonia shot like Foreverich talked about, I know I work at a hospital it is VERY effective I would have thought your doc would have already offerer it to you by now. Get your flu shot too! It is not bogus! I will be thinking of you.:garrett:
