This is my first post with finds, so hopefully I dont screw it up. Been dying to get out but its been cold and with my injured hand, Hunting has been on hold. But I have been driving past a very promising looking old park on the way to therapy, and it was almost 50 degrees today so..I headed out with my trusty Exp and hit the site. Most of the ground was soft ,with moderate trash, not too bad..and some fairly clean spots.after about 5 minutes, got a nice fairly deep sweet silver sound. down about 6 inches came a merc. So far so good.about a half hour went buy, when things got nicer. Another merc followed by 2 Barber dimes about 1 ft apart..got an Iffy deeep quarter bouncing up high..right corner to middle high..sounded sweet.About 8 inches down I pulled out what i thought was a clad quarter. It looked dull.but when I cleaned it with a little spit polish..1896 Barber Quarter!..Ahh man, felt great being out ..and finding stuff too. funny that the mercs were shiny, but the Barbers were duller..Unfriendly ground to the older silver I guess..I was getting tired, was on my way back to the car when i got a nice soft silver hit..a little iffy, butu knew it was something sweet..and it looked deep. Stuck my digger in the ground and it was like concrete! I was tired..I was gonna just try and remember where it was and try another day..but I tried working it and managed to get through. After the 1st 4 inches it got easy. Had about 8 inches of dirt out of the hole, stuck my probe in and it rang out..removed another couple of inches..no coin.Stuck the probe in the hole..still ringing!!..pulled out another clump, and i saw the large disc..1818 Large Cent!..Man was i happy..this is only my 3rd. Found one last year, and one about 20 years ago..These machines are unreal.. with a little patience ,it blows away the competition. So thats my long story. ..The large cent was etched, I guess over the years..almost every target had iron in the hole..iron everywhere! If you look at the barber dime, u can see the iron still stuck to it, and there were numerous other pieces in the hole!! HH everyone..hope u enjoy the photos.
