Finally got the Lightweight coils in. Mattockmans is in my truck waiting for him.

First thing I did was take it in the wet grass and give it a try. No falsing with sens set at 30

Hi Bob...

You'll have to let us know your impressions after you've hunted with it! I'm sorely tempted to save up for one of these. My only concern was how fragile the cross strips on the coil looked, but maybe that's an unwarranted fear. If that coil combines good depth, target separation and stability, it needs to be added to the arsenal !

Doug and I are going for a day hunt on Saturday. You will all hear the poop that evening.
I think if it were stepped on and it was on uneven ground, you might crack it. One thing to keep in mind is, we asked for a light stable coil. Well, we got one. Now we have to treat it as just that. A Lightweight stable coil. Like I said in the original post, I took it out to the wet grass that was about 6" high and I scuffed it back and forth fast and slow. No falsing. It was like having the FBS1050 on. Even if there is no difference in depth and I can hunt dry stubble with little or no falsing. I am Happy. You can't have everything, but this coil has a good chance of filling my needs and a lot of other Explorer users needs.
Doug and I will be able to tell you a lot more come Saturday evening.

They are flexable but if you use the spacers that come with the coil, everything is nice and snug.

We ordered 2 then and another 2 the following week and they only got them shipped last Thur. I think they jumped the gun with that email. But now I'm happy and I just may take tomorrow off. Getting a little antsy here.
