Finally went wireless on my 1500.

I have been reading posts for a couple years about wireless head phone setups. Alway thought it would be a good way to go. I my case it seemed like it would give me a little relief with the 100+ degree weather we often get here in Texas. Also the idea of not dealing with the cord really sounded good. About a year ago I mail ordered a brand that got pretty good reviews on a couple of the forums but they turned out to be a waste of money. They did not work on my 1500. I thought then, that was the last of it. I had no desire to try another brand. After all, a good set of comfortable phones that completely cover the ears, in my opinion, gives you about the best quality tone with less outside noise. And, with my poor hearing, it's probably the best way to go for me. However, the possibility of getting rid of the cord was still on my mind. I got the bug again when I started reading comments on the radio shack #33-1253. I have read many of Khouse's posts and opinions on the forumn and he seems to be pretty honest and truthful with him opinions. So, after asking Kenny if he had ever tryed this setup on his 1500, he assured me it would work. Well I got the phones and set them up on my 1500 and they are working pretty darn good. I hesitate to say "excellent" at this point because I need a little more time with them. Oh, I will still use the corded phones sometimes especially during the cold season but for now I will log as many hours with the wireless set as I can. Thanks for letting me ramble, but I finnally found something that works so had to comment on it. Also-thanks again Kenny.

It feels weird (but good) hunting wireless. Experimenting with different modifications is fun and can also be part of the hobby.

My price was 49.99 rather than the 39.99 you mentioned but happy with that. Maybe it varies around the country. I don't know where you are. I wil say the quality is better that the ones I tryed last year and those cost a little more. I don't work for Radio Shack or push their products, just a fact
Thanks Al

After this past weekends hunt, with me getting constantly tangled, tripped up, ripped from my head, etc...they sound like a new purchase a comin'!

I never had problems with the head set I have and they work well and are in stereo but this past weekend they almost went in the lake for some one else to find!!!!! Why I had problems this weekend and never before is beyond me...I was at my limits!!!!

It was your weekend to be a klutz. :) We all have those days. One day my shoe lace on one shoe kept coming untied and I damned near busted my arse a half-dozen times. I was about to yank that shoe off and throw it away. And I've had days where my cord was in the way constantly.
