Here's an object that I've found where numerous CS relics were found. It appears to be made of brass. My first thought was a firing pin. <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">

Same as previous find, different picture. <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?">

It's not a firing pin. Very few weapons during the CW fired cased projectiles; and half of them were rimfire. The others used no firing pin at all (direct ignition though the head). You may have part of a mechanical pencil. Does the tip have a hole in it? David

David, There's no hole in either end , it's solid all the way through, not hollow.
