Finding me a beach pigeon.

Went to my local beach yesterday and found this smal pigeon.

To me it looks bronze and old.

I found some old 1700 items before on this beach.

The edges of the pigeon are awfully shiny, that indicates to me that it has been rolling in the surf for several time.


Perhaps one of you has any idea what it was used for.

Some type of decorative item one assumes, looks like a post on the bottom to insert into a base. Neat find!
 
Looks like a hat pin that has been broken off, could be quite old by our standards.
