FIRST GOLD RING THIS YEAR!!

Stopped by the beach for about a hour, and found this stuff! one wheat cent dated 1945, ring 10k cz inside the ring, at least the gold is real!! I was using Garrett sea hunter mark II at the surf line. it was about 13" deep. This was my first ring with the sea hunter. The signal on the ring was faint, but i dig every thing.

Congrats on the nice ring find !
A real beauty !

Heeehaw! My favorite find - gold rings.

I like old stuff: coins, buckles, CW items and so on. Its neat to find this stuff and admittedly it is what got me into the hobby. And such things are occasionally worth something. My friend Hal recently found a Charleston, S.C. slave tag around here that sold for $1200.
It was a once in a lifetime find.

But gold, platinum and, to a lesser degree, silver rings and jewelry are a "lead pipe cinch," as we used to say.

You don't have to guess where they are most likely to be found, there is an ever flowing stream of people to lose them and just by looking inside the band you know pretty quick what it is worth. I found three last year - in one season - that came close to netting me the same money Hal got for his tag. And I didnt try very hard. I could very likely do that again this year and every year after.
Not so with slave tags.

SO yessir, your find gets me excited and I'm happy for you. Way to go. Makes you wonder what John B. racks up in totals, don't it?

Kind of a (was) cool knife. Too bad mother nature did a number on it.

Hope it's the first of many this year....the ring that is. :)
