Well finally got my detector late last night and went out today. I found mostly junk. Couple bottle caps random pieces of metal that I have no idea what they where let alone how they got there. I did find 2 x 25c, 1 X 5c, and 2 Pennies. All from the 90's except 1 Q from 83. Guess I need more work Unfortunately all the schools around here have chain link fence and no trespassing signs Well tomorrow's a new day and new adventure.

Ok, ok...thats not too bad for a first day out...About the no trespassing signs, take a picture and post it will ya? I see some "no golfing on the sports field" and "no wheels on the track" or "no dogs" stuff like that...nothing that really applies to us...'course, never hop a locked fence, hmmm, "never" may be too strong of a word here I think base the decision on the height! No, but really, this is the last big opportunity to hit some school yards over the holiday break..and the main/side entrance sidewalks are usually killer spots anyway! Amazingly, with no snow here yet, a fellow can do pretty good right out front where the snow used to be pushed in years past. Get some swing time in, Kahne!.

Keep pushing you will get there,try other places,parks,grass strips,boat launches,I personally like old wooded areas with paths through them....jmho...hh rick in mi.

good job it only gets better ive been wanting to hit the park by the river in grants pass some day, also theres alot of state parks in oregon that you can hunt some you have to get a permit to be legal heres a link to that md club in grants pass tells there what towns have schools that are open to mding and other usefull info hh

Hmmm...there IS a little wiggle room in that posting. No unauthorized person after dark. You are not there after dark, and you are not a vandal. I got booted off a public beach last summer before sunup by a city cop that patrols it...it was probably 5 am, and he said even though it wasn't posted, no one was allowed before sunup, no trouble, we had a nice talk, I'm sure he ran my plates, and found out I was just an old harmless guy, and a local taxpayer, like I said to him, what you need is some old guys out here detecting to keep an eye on things. Very interesting these debates on "trespassing" especially the ones on foreclosed or abandoned property, what was once public is now private, and vice versa. Well, at least someday somebody will get a huge pile of loot from a place that was off limits for a while. It sure would be nice to not have to worry about things like this...and just go get some harmless excersize. Yep the Maintenance Mgr. is the "key".. he has 'em, and is often there on the weekends or after hours anyway, and may just unlock the gate for you for a few hours every now and then...take a box of donuts. .

i done it a loong time ago! back in '78
there is a state park where i live and the "warden" lived in a corner house right at the park
i got in there one day,and nobody "ptiched" me so i kept at it!..turned out the warden" croaked,
and they didn't replace him right away!..found the 'world " there barbers,walkers,largies,the lot!
got tossed finally,but the "new" warden commended me for not damaging the turf.NEVER caught a break like that again
don't suspect i'll ever get "lucky" like that again!..just sayin'

im thinking they locked it for christmas vacation i would go back after school starts on the weekend see if its still locked, if so there should be plenty of public parks over there to hit lets us know hh

2nd hunt....nails....nails....and more nails. I think I found where all the missing nails in the universe go. Upon some research I just found out my town has only been around for 100 years. So not very high hopes of finding some old coins.
