Well, I went back to the 1838 farmsite and gave it a go with the WOT for about 3 hours. I hunted wide open, ferrous, 25 sensitivity, gain 7; was very stable until I got near the powerlines in the frontyard of the property. Found several shotgun shell bases, .32 case, part of an oilmap mantle and some other junk/relics...no coins. I had no problem swinging it; it felt well balanced...almost felt like I was a minesweeper though. I've hit the site very hard with my Fishers along with the EX II with the 8 and 10 inch coils so I'm not sure how much is there to be had.
This is an original Ohio settler farmstead. The farmer's wife's headstone and base are resting against an old garage...I'm not sure where she's at and I'd rather not find out while looking for coins. The headstone is marble and reads:
Mary Spring
wife of Samuel Robbins
aged 67 years
died ------1857.
A real good site, I would think there are a few LC's somewhere...maybe next outing...HH
