First Hunt with the Sovereign GT (long)

By the way it was the second, but it was the first "serious" hunt having the time and having treasured all the info from the nice people of this forum.

I live in the north-east coast of Italy in the town of Ravenna, 15 minutes from the sea by car.

The last 15 days was very cold here, average between 0 to 5

Judging by what you found in the sand the treasure can not be far away - let's hope you find it next time !

I'm hoping that! We have pretty crowded beach in the summer and with my "old" Garrett Gtp 1350 i have found 80 euros in coins and a gold ring in just 40 hours of detecting, but not on the shoreline, that machine is not suited for the wet sand. My hope is to find more stuff with the sov once learned it.

It would be a good idea to get a copy of Clive James Clynick's book entitled, " Finding Gold, Silver and Coins with the Minelab Sovereign and Excaliber metal detectors". It is a good read and will help with the learning curve. You are doing well, from what I can see and keep digging those pull tabs, eventually one will come out and it will be a golden circle! Send cjc a PM and he will get a copy out to you, if you are not sure where to get a copy of it.
